Good Alkaline Morning
Acidic environments support the overgrowth of microforms and disease, causing a wide variety of symptoms in the body. Alkalinity enables electrons to be used for energy and proper body functioning, as opposed to being paired with protons from acid foods. This oatmeal bowl was designed for a few of healthy reasons:

Oats are a complex carb, which are less sugary and acidic than simple carbs. They break down to simple carbs and complex sugars, which are used as glucose for energy. Oats are a good source of beta-glucan fiber, a soluble source that is slowly digested and promotes healthy gut bacteria. They provide lengthened fullness and fuel.

Almonds are an alkaline nut, helping promote a basic environment within the body. 19% of the calories from almonds are protein. Almonds are also a good source of calcium, containing 234mg per 100g. Calcium is necessary for neutralizing acid from animal proteins. The mineral is taken from bone supply if not adequately consumed. Milk is not a great source of calcium, as it is very acid forming and contains useless components for humans, which waste the body's resources when being converted to use (if not removed as a toxin). Calcium should be consumed from more natural sources.

The bowl was topped with NuttZo nut butter, a combination of many nuts and seeds including cashews, almonds, flax seeds, and chia seeds, among many more. The variety introduces many health benefits to the meal, as opposed to a singular nut butter. Chia seeds, for instance, are a source of antioxidants and calcium. Both chia and flax seeds provide insoluble fiber, different from oats, this fiber acts as a laxative to improve the passage of food through the gut. I also mixed PB2 into the oats to create a nutty base.

While fruit has benefits that table sugar does not, such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber, the sweet produce is loaded with acidic sugar. Any sugar source will feed microforms and ferment it into alcohol and mycotoxins (few exceptions). Blueberries are acidic on the pH scale. Its nutrients are important to consume, but balancing the fruit with an alkaline ingredient is smart for creating optimal energy within the body.

PB2 on Pancakes
Oatmeal with peanut butter powder and banana is a go-to breakfast for me. With a little extra time, pancakes are a fun spin with similar ingredients. Using PB2 to make peanut butter is a light way to add the nutty flavor and can be a low sugar alternative to syrup. Consuming peanuts within the first five years of life makes children less likely to develop a peanut allergy- this is a great way to introduce peanuts into their diet!
