One of my favorite foods is salad. Another of my favorite foods is pizza. Together they create the perfect combination: salad pizza!
While some of my friends judge my love for pizza with lettuce, tomatoes, and other salad ingredients on top, it's one of my go to slices. This may not be an authentic Italian pizza pie, but my family enjoys having a cold version of the traditional food.
Our favorite salad pizza is from a local, high-end Italian Restaurant in Bedford Village, New York. Restaurant Lucia makes the "Avocado Pizza," a crispy crust cooked with tomato sauce and topped with arugula, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, avocado, and sprinkled salt and pepper. The pizza also comes with dressing: a red wine and olive oil vinaigrette.
This pizza is a treat that we don't often get. It's a special meal for occasions when the family wants nice-quality Italian, such as my dad's birthday where I took this picture. The restaurant has a good vibe, but we often takeout.
I got my cousin obsessed with this pizza, and if you tried it I'm sure you would love it too.
